Nov 11,  · November 11, referencing Mountain Battles, CD, Album, Ltd, Dig, CADD CD This is a criminally underrated album. Its minimal and mellow for the most part with a very atmospheric production/5().

Title track “Mountain Battles” reminds me of “Videotape,” the closer to the Radiohead's In Rainbows. Both bands seem to be ending on very elegiac, yet pensive notes. “Mountain Battles,” however, is sparer than “Videotape,” featuring just Kim’s voice, some organ, and a bit of guitar.

"Mountain Battles" captures all the bittersweet electricity of classic Breeders records like "Pod" and "Last Splash", and still manages to break new ground. Deluxe page booklet with both formats. Look for appearances at SXSW, Coachella, and Bonnaroo, and a national tour upon release, followed by a fall tour/5(33).
  7. Vujar says:
Mountain Battles sounds like progress, too: while all Breeders albums have, in varying proportions, a mix of whip-smart pop songs, droning rockers, and experimental tangents, the blend of these sounds hasn't sounded this satisfying since the Pod days.8/
